The Denmark Open badminton tournament which opened on Tuesday has drawn a strong line-up of world famous players.X The men's singles event provides a stellar field of competitors, with Malaysia's London Olympics silver medalist Lee Chong Wei seeded first. China's Chen Long, who won the tournament last year and won bronze at the Olympics, is seeded second.
China's Chen Jin is seeded third, while Danish veteran and former world number one Peter Gade is seeded sixth.
The women's singles features top two seeds Li Xuerui and Wang Yihan from China, who won gold and silver medals at the London games respectively.
They are followed by India's Saina Nehwal, who won bronze in the Olympics, while Danish number one Tine Baum is seeded fifth.
Chinese shuttlers also dominate seeding in the doubles events, with Olympic champions Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei seeded first.
They are followed by Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang, who were disqualified at the London Olympics for intentionally losing against a South Korean pair. The Denmark Open will be the Chinese duo's first appearance since their exit from the summer games.
China's Xu Chen and Ma Jin are seeded first in mixed doubles, with compatriots Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei seeded second.
Meanwhile, Denmark's Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen, who won silver at the London Olympics, are seeded first in the men's doubles, followed by China's Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng, who beat the Danish pair for gold at the Olympics.
The Denmark Open is among the country's oldest sports events, with the inaugural edition being held in 1935. This year marks the tournament's 61st edition, and it takes place from Oct. 16-21.
