Xu Ru, who lives in Chengdu, Sichuan province, has been blind for more than 20 years, went to a cinema in the city to see the film Jane Eyre on Oct 16, 2012.

The first special cinema for people with visual disabilities opened in early September. The cinema has sidewalks for the blind, air conditioners and handrails on the wall.

The films shown there are ordinary films added with lots of narration. The scenes, costumes and actions were all translated into words so that blind people can hear it and enjoy the films.

The cinema has bought 30 films and screens two features each week for free.
