Han Han, a Chinese writer, blogger and race driver.
Han Han, a Chinese writer and blogger, will publish a series of pop-science books next month, his publisher said on Monday.
The series will target all-age audiences who are interested in science, but will focus on teenage boys, said Lu Jinbo, Han Han's friend and publisher.
Lu said Han Han has been planning to release the books for over a year, and designed them to popularize science.
Some are questioning if Han Han, a 30-year-old writer who never went to university, is capable of writing books on science.
Lu explained that Han Han is the chief editor, and is responsible for editing and structure, not the actual writing. The publishing team has invited professionals to provide the content.
His first book, titled "Where is the Earth From?" will be published next month, followed by books talking about stars, universe and dinosaurs, and will be published over the next three years.
Lu refused to leak the price of the books, but stressed that the quality of books will be very high.
At the recent Frankfurt Book Fair, "This generation", the English version of Han Han's Chinese essay "Youth" received much attention from international publishers.
Zhou Ting'an, a Peony Literary Agency that publishes Han Han's books overseas, said "This Generation" has been published in the UK, the U.S. and France, and is speaking with publishers in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
The famous writer and race driver has added a great deal to his net worth over the past few years, Lu said. Han Han will get around 12 million yuan (US$1.87 million dollars) from a new advertisement with an electronic appliance brand.
