Cold air will continue to bring temperatures down in east and south China over the next three days, with snowfall possible in some areas, meteorological authorities predicted Wednesday.

Some eastern and southern regions will see temperatures drop by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, according to a statement from the National Meteorological Center.

Parts of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Heilongjiang province and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will see light to moderate amounts of snow and sleet, while rain is expected for some areas in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, as well as the provinces of Sichuan and Hainan, the statement said.

Cold air is also expected to bring strong winds to most parts of China, the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait over the next three days, according to the statement.
