Reception marks 50th anniversary of China-Uganda ties

A reception was held in Beijing on Thursday evening to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Uganda diplomatic relations.

Feng Zuoku, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Ugandan Ambassador to China Charles Madibo Wagidoso addressed the event.

Feng said friendship between China and Uganda has gone through a long history, and bilateral relations have maintained stable and healthy development. China is willing to work with Uganda to push forward friendly ties.

Wagidoso spoke highly of China's support for Uganda since independence,and voiced hope that the two countries can promote all-round and in-depth cooperation.

The reception was jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Chinese-African People's Friendship Association and the Ugandan Embassy in China.

Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun attended the reception together with about 150 participants.
