Two-time NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady is heading to China, aiming to extend his already impressive career. The superstar is due to arrive in the coastal city of Qing Dao on Wednesday.

McGrady's arrival will add further interest as the seven-time All-Star played alongside Yao Ming at the Houston Rockets for six years from 2004 to 2010. McGrady will not participate at the Chinese Basketball Association preseason games with his Qingdao teammates, but he will have a warm-up in mid November.

The 33-year-old will reportedly become the highest-paid player in the league. But health and motivation will be factors for McGrady, coming off a career-low season averaging 5.3 points in just 16 minutes with the Atlanta Hawks. The Chinese season is set to begin in late November and will end in March.
