China's State Council held an executive meeting earlier on Wednesday, approving the 12th Five-Year program for the energy sector. The program pledges to push forward reforms with regards to electricity, coal, gas, and encourage private capital to enter the energy sector.
Meanwhile, the State Council also passed a nuclear power safety program as well as a medium and long-term nuclear energy development program.
The programs require the safe construction of nuclear power stations, and aims at mainly building the plants in the country's coastal regions.
