The 64 crew members of a Chinese fishing boat have been rescued after a fire left them trapped on Saturday night.
A Chinese rescue ship brought them back to port in Zhejiang Province following a three-day rescue mission. The crew members are all reported to be in good condition. The Mingyang, a refrigerated fishing ship, caught fire late last Saturday in waters near Japan's Okinawa.
Japanese coast guards immediately launched a search mission after the accident was reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the ship's chief engineer says it might have been caused by an explosion in the main engine.
