Beijing government will provide heating to residents from midnight Saturday, which is around one week earlier than in previous years, the Beijing Municipal Commission of City Administration and Environment announced on its website Tuesday.
The average temperature is forecast to be below 5 C for five consecutive days from Saturday to next Wednesday. The administration asked all heating departments in the city to light the boilers and commence trial heating Tuesday, and has posted the numbers of heater repair hotlines at all residential compounds.
