Senior Chinese political advisor meets Albania leaders

A delegation of China's top political advisory body met on Wednesday with Albanian President Bujar Nishani and Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli respectively, pledging to promote cooperation between the two countries.

Zhang Rongming, the vice chairwoman of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) who led the delegation, said during the talks that the two countries should cherish their deeply-rooted friendship.

She added that the two sides have maintained frequent high-level exchanges, with political mutual trust continuously enhanced and bilateral cooperation in various areas increasingly broadened.

China would like to join hands with Albania to continue to deepen political mutual trust, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and consolidate traditional friendship.

Nishani and Topalli said respectively that Albania values its friendship with China. Albania would stick to the one-China policy and respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Albania is willing to work with the China to enhance communication and expand cooperation.

Topalli also conveyed willingness to further strengthen friendly exchanges between Albanian parliament and China's top political advisory body.

Zhang agreed with Topalli and hoped to promote the cooperation so as to further bilateral relations between the two countries

Departed from Beijing last Wednesday for visits to Moldova, Albania and Serbia, the Chinese delegation arrived in Tirana on Tuesday.
