With winter in the air, the ongoing China Fashion Week continues to bring new ideas to the fore. From summer knittings, to casual clothes to out-there designs, its proving to be a real eye opener.

In the hands of creative designers, knitting, a far more typical of the colder months, becomes light and chic.

And with wrinkles and an uneven hem at the back - the designer's unique creativity is on full display here.

The effect is hard to ignore. The knitting, together with more traditional materials, really draw out the graceful bodies and posturing of the models.

And here, the designer employs the trappings of everyday life for this show of casual wear. The theme is "sharing," emphasizing the warmth but not forgetting the challenges of family life.

The materials selected are light-weight, loose-fitting cotton, furs and silk. The aim is to emphasize relaxation and pleasure in life above all else.

And, while the event has its share of veterans, the show is also being used as a springboard for young talent. This competition in particular drew a diverse showing - from the reserved and more traditional to the newfangled and flamboyant - if somewhat odd.

The grand prize ultimately landed in the lap of Fu Zhicheng, a designer who specializes in the use of triangular cuts of fabric.

The show will continue to run to November 3rd - that's plenty of time for even more young designers to make their mark.
