A woman, surnamed Qiao, who was sued by her neighbor, surnamed Xiao, who alleged Qiao's cat attacked her dog, has countersued after a first trial ordered Qiao to pay medical fees to Xiao, the Beijing Evening News reported.
Qiao contended the suspect cat was a stray at Beijing No.2 Intermediate Court Thursday. Qiao had been ordered to pay Xiao 1,815 yuan ($291) for slight injuries she sustained as she tried to protect her dog, who was uninjured.
Qiao said she has cats at home and sometimes feeds strays, but she is not responsible for the suspect cat.
