The 2012 Poland China Tibetan Culture Week has just opened in Poland's capital Warsaw. The event is the first of its kind, aiming to give the Poles a glimpse of Tibet and its traditional culture.
Folk songs and dance performances kicked off the Tibetan Culture Week. The event will also feature an exhibition of more than 200 photos, 46 Tibetan Thangka paintings, as well as a series of seminars and discussions between Tibetologists and the locals.
The event will showcase the economic, political, cultural and social achievements Tibet had made over the past decades. The culture week is co-sponsored by China's State Council Information Office, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Chinese embassy in Poland and the Dom Polski Association.
Organizers are hoping such cultural exchange activities will deepen the Polish people's understanding of Tibet's history and present and strengthen bilateral ties.
