A total of 400 jujube trees have been transfused with medicine in Beijing, reported the Beijing Youth Daily Tuesday.

Tao Wanqiang, an official from Beijing Forestry bureau, said that 400 jujubes trees had been hung with an infusion bag before winter to cure jujube witches' broom, which can cause trees to rot or die.

Over 80 percent of jujube trees die of the disease, which is mostly spread by cicadas.
