Freshmen must review their homework every morning and before bed, according to a new rule issued by Wuhan Yangtze Business University in Hubei Province on Tuesday.
Before the announcement, six universities, including Wuhan Textile University, Wuhan University of Technology and Hubei University, surveyed students in Wuhan on whether they think their schools should require them to review their homework, Wuhan Evening News reported Wednesday.
Many respondents said that schools should not dictate how they study in their free time.
"Forcing us to review our homework is not going to make us better students," one respondent said.
The poll showed that 65 percent of respondents do not find that reviewing their homework helps them as much as expected.
Such a regulation has been implemented at Hubei University of Chinese Medicine and Wuhan University of Science and Technology.
