6 dead, 18 injured in SW China pileup

Six people were killed and another 18 injured in a 25-vehicle pileup Saturday morning in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local police said.

The accident occurred at about 9 a.m. on the Hukun (Shanghai - Kunming) expressway in Anshun City. More than 25 vehicles involved in the accident, and seven of them burst into flames.

The 18 injured, with seven in critical condition have been sent to hospital for treatment.

Firefighters, traffic police and medical team have been dispatched to the site.

Relevant departments are investigating the cause of the accident.
