Congratulations have continued to flow in from countries, political parties and organizations across the world to Xi Jinping on his election as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
French President Francois Hollande said: "I extend my warmest congratulations on your election as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China."
"It is in the spirit of mutual trust and future orientation that I want to work with you to deepen relations between France and China within the framework of the overall strategic partnership between France and China," Hollande said in the message.
The France-China friendship dates back to long time ago and and "our partnership has played a pioneering role," he said.
"We will celebrate in 2014 the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of France and the People's Republic of China. It will be a great event which gives us the opportunity to further deepen our relationship and cooperation," he said.
"I am personally committed to the development of our relations, which must be based on stability, mutual respect and reciprocity," the French president said.
"I wish you every success in your new position," Hollande said.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow also sent his most sincere congratulations to Xi on his election as the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission.
Berdimuhamedow said Turkmenistan sets a high value on its friendly relations with China, which is based on equality, reciprocity, mutual respect and trust.
The cooperation and understanding between the two countries have reached a high level, which will serve as a solid foundation for the sustained development of bilateral ties and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, Berdimuhamedow said.
President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh said he was convinced that under Xi's leadership, China will continue the win-win strategic partnership it established with Africa.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Xi's election proves that his personal contribution and achievements have won extensive recognition.
Azarov hopes that the Ukraine-China traditional friendship and mutual understanding will further promote comprehensive development of bilateral ties, and enlarge reciprocal cooperation between the two sides in the interest of the two peoples.
Political leader of the Dominica Labor Party, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, said in a message: "We in Dominica have followed the process very closely and are encouraged by the seamless power transition exhibited in the electoral process instituted by your party over the years."
"Your distinguished profile has prepared you for this task, which we are convinced, you will undertake with the vigor and tenacity required," he said.
Vice Chairman of the Belgian Socialist Party Andre Flahaut, who is also president of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, sent his congratulations to Xi on his election.
He said he and his party attach great importance to advancing the relationship with the CPC.
The two parties have a privileged relationship, Flahaut said, adding that he was convinced that it will be perpetuated in the future.
Ranko Krivokapic, president of the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro and parliament speaker, congratulated Xi on his election as the general secretary of the CPC central committee.
Krivokapic said in the message that he hopes Xi could successfully lead China forward along a path that features comprehensive development in politics, economy and society.
He also expected that the two parties could deepen their cooperation, and promote their friendship.
Former Bolivian President Jorge Quiroga said China's profound economic transformation has already made a difference in the world, and its rapid economic development has brought unique opportunities to South America.
Quiroga believed China, led by Xi, will surely become the world's largest economy in a few years, while at the same time help boost economic development in Latin America.
Jhala Nath Khanal, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) and the country's ex-prime minister, said he hoped the CPC, under Xi's leadership, would continue to lead the Chinese people in developing the socialist market economy and building a prosperous country with a strong cultural soft power.
Khanal said he was glad to see China, which has become a global power, has still followed the policy of peaceful development and opposed various forms of hegemonism.
Evangelos Venizelos, former deputy prime minister of Greece and the president of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement, believed Xi's commitment to prosperity and a better quality of life for the Chinese people, to a better environment, reforms and openness is of major importance.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said he had the honor of meeting Xi during his visit to Beijing in January 2010.
He was confident that under Xi's dynamic leadership, Pakistan-China relations will scale new heights of growth and development, to the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said in their congratulatory message that Xi's election is of historic significance not only to the CPC, but also to the people of China and the world as well.
They said that the 18th CPC National Congress has overseen a smooth leadership transition to a new generation of leaders, and reflected the unity within the party.
It is believed that, under the leadership of the new central committee, the CPC will build a better future for the Chinese people, they added.
Jeronimo de Sousa, general secretary of the Communist Party of Portugal, hoped Xi would be successful in China's socialism building, boosting social progress, and promoting world peace.
Sousa said he is willing to further enhance the friendship between the two parties and promote the friendly ties between the two countries and the two peoples.
