Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu visits China on Tuesday on his first foreign trip in his new post.
He will attend the 17th Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on military and technological cooperation in Beijing. Shoigu's spokesman said last week that the meeting is meant to sum up the military and technological cooperation between the two countries over the past year and also set the agenda for 2013.
Shoigu was appointed by President Vladimir Putin to replace Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov on November 6th, amid a corruption scandal at the Defence Ministry.
