China's library society meeting ends

The annual meeting of China's library society has concluded in south China's Guangdong Province. Digitalization was the main highlight of this year's meeting.

The three day event attracted more than 140 publishing companies, office equipment manufacturers, and software research firms. Deals worth about a billion yuan were inked during the meeting.

Besides academic forums and seminars, there were also exhibitions showing the most advanced library and information technologies, including the creation of a digital library.

Participants also pointed out that international cooperation and government support will play a more and more important role in the development of the country's libraries.
