Chinese Vice Premier, Li Keqiang, says China has become a middle-income country, but there still exists uneven development and a wide rural-urban gap. He made the remarks during a meeting with World Bank chief, Jim Yong Kim, in Beijing.
Li also says, China's urbanization drive will mainly focus on modernizing the industrial sector, IT, and the agricultural sector. The Vice Premier also vowed to improve basic public services, while noting that China is seeking greater self-reliance in addressing the issue of food security.
