In the Japanese city of Nagoya, the third meet of ISU World Cup Short Track wrapped up on Sunday. China's 4-time Olympic Champion Wang Meng exhibited excellent form in her favorite event--the 500 meters.
Winning back to back in the first two meets of the season in this event, Wang was looking forward to her triple championship. Taking advantage of her pole position, Wang blasted off from the very beginning and established a commanding lead. She crossed the finish line first in 44.595 seconds. Her teammate Liu Qiuhong made it a one-two finish for China.
In the team event, Wang led the Chinese squad to their second straight gold in the women's 3,000 meters relay in 4 minutes, 12.120 seconds. South Korea finished the second. With the victories, China reaped two golds, one silver and two bronzes in Nagoya. South Korea proved to be the biggest winners with five golds.
