Prosecutors told not to be influenced during probes

2012-12-04 08:43 Xinhua     Web Editor: Mo Hong'e comment

Chinese prosecutors have been urged not to be influenced when investigating cases that involve abuse-of-power or dereliction of duty, a notice issued by the Supreme People's Procuratorate said Monday.

The notice said procuratorate at all levels should not allow any organization or individual to intervene in investigations into cases of power abuse and dereliction of duty, and resolutely stand against regional and industrial protectionism.

The notice asked procuratorate to cooperate with the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s discipline watchdog in handling such cases, and work out detailed methods to punish those who leverage their power to stop or thwart such investigations or even retaliate against investigators.
