Two suspects who were accused of robbery, theft, murder and disposing of a body stood trial at Beijing Second Intermediate People's Court Monday, the Beijing Evening News reported.
Defendants Wang Xiaoli and Yang Yongwu allegedly lured the victim, surnamed Xia, to Yang's home in Fengtai district on March 30, 2005, tied him up and stole his cellphone, tricycle and 180 yuan ($29). The two then gagged Xia with a towel, stabbed him in the neck and dumped the body into a local river.
The two also stole items and 3,000 yuan in cash from Xia's home later.
