CBA Roundup: Shandong unbeaten, Beijing handed first defeat

Shandong Gold bombarded Liaoning Hengye with 18 three-pointers to reap their fifth straight win in the Chinese Basketball Association League on Wednesday, while defending champions the Beijing Ducks suffered their first defeat of the 2012-2013 season, losing 87-96 to Tianjin Ronggang.

Guard Eugene Jeter grabbed a game-high 31 points to lead Shandong past Hengye 117-101.

Shandong stretched the lead to 17 points in the third period with eight 3-pointers, putting the game out of reach. Shandong also out-rebounded Liaoning by 52-29.

Stephon Marbury scored 32 points but still was unable to prevent the Ducks from losing at home. Randolph Morris, who was not in form, had only 9 points.

Tianjin bench player Xu Guijun stole the limelight by making 4 out of 5 three pointers to grab a team-high 30 points as Tianjin held off Beijing's last-quarter rally.

In the other games, Guangdong Hongyuan edged Zhejiang Chouzhou 126-124, Jilin Northeast Tigers beat Qingdao Doublestar 95-84, Zhejiang Guangsha beat Foshan Long Lions 111-98, Jiangsu Dragons beat Fujian SBS 108-95, Shanxi Zhongyu beat Bayi Fubang 102-90, Shanghai Sharks beat Xinjiang Guanghui 99-95.
