More Tianjin residents are heading to hot-spring resorts outside the municipality this winter and travel agencies are trying to grab a piece of the high-end market, Metro Express reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, group purchases on websites selling hot-spring packages online at relatively low prices, and increasing ownership of cars have led to the declining popularity of tour packages to local hot-spring resorts.
Travel agencies are promoting high-end hot-spring packages in neighboring Beijing, or even in places such as Nanjing, Huangshan and Xiamen.
Dermatologists warned people going to hot-spring resorts to not stay in the hot water for too long, or they may develop skin irritations and allergies.
Doctors also reminded people to not visit hot-spring resorts if they have hypertension, are sleep deprived, or after meals.
