Starting from January 2013, foreigners from 45 countries landing in Beijing but destined for other countries can have a 72-hour landing visa if they arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport, according to a China Central Television report Wednesday.
The 45 countries include the US, the UK, France, Germany, Canada, Japan and Italy. After the new policy is implemented, services in the airport and tourist industry will be improved for these passengers.
Ding Xiangyang, the city's deputy mayor, said that the visa-free entry policy will bring Beijing an increase in the number of visitors and tourism revenue.
