China's Nobel literature winner Mo Yan has called for more attention to be paid to Chinese literature from readers worldwide. He said he planned to write more in the future.
Speaking at a news conference in Stockholm, Mo Yan said he hoped that people would read more from other Chinese writers as well. Asked about which of his books he would recommend to western readers, Mo Yan said he would choose "Life and Death are Wearing Me Out".
He likened the novel to a fairy tale that reflects changes in China over a long time. He also voiced his support for young writers. Mo Yan arrived in Sweden on Thursday and is expected to receive his Nobel prize along with the winners in medicine, physics, chemistry and economics next Monday.
