An apartment building dating back to the 1950s caught fire around noon Monday in Pudong New Area.
The fire started in a fifth-floor apartment and spread to four other units and the building's roof. No one was injured.
No one was home in the apartment when the fire started.
More than 10 fire engines assisted in putting out the blaze, which had to be attacked from a distance due to the narrow roads surrounding the building.
