A man who killed his father with a hammer stood trial Tuesday at Beijing First Intermediate People's Court, the Beijing Evening News reported.
Zheng Hailong, 27, allegedly killed his 48-year-old father after intervening when his parents fought.
On July 13, during a quarrel, the father took a hammer and threatened to smash Zheng's computer. He hit him with the hammer and knocked off Zheng's glasses.
Zheng then grabbed the hammer to fight back, only realizing the father was lying dead in a pool of blood when he found his glasses. He gave himself up to police later that day.
