Chris Daniels, from the NBA Development League, will replace D.J. Mbenga and become Tracy McGrady's new teammate in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), manager of the Qingdao Eagles told Xinhua Wednesday.
The newcomer, 28, played in South Korea from 2008 to 2011 and snatched 21.3 points per game in 2008-2009 season.
Mbenga, whose performances are unsatisfying in all eight matches, will be replaced by Daniels in next match against Shandong, said Sheng Xishun, manager of the Qingdao Eagles.
Joining CBA this season, Mbenga scored 11.9 points per game and only got two points in the last match against Tianjin Wednesday evening.
"We didn't let him enter the court in the last two quarters any more as he did a bad job in the first half," Sheng said.
The 32-year-old Mbenga had played for Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers in NBA.
Although with seven-time NBA All-Star McGrady in the team, Qingdao Eagles lost all eight matches in the new season and had replaced South Korean coach Kang Jung-soo with Zhang Shizhang, the club's junior team coach.
