Algeria's ruling party National Liberation Front (FLN) hopes to deepen its cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC), FLN Secretary-General Abdelaziz Belkhadem said here on Sunday.

Belkhadem expressed the hope when meeting a Chinese delegation headed by Zhang Xiaolan, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and secretary of Gansu Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Congratulating on the successful conclusion of the 18th CPC National Congress, Belkhadem said China would undoubtedly make greater achievements under its new leadership.

He spoke highly of the traditional friendship between Algeria and China, saying that his country would not forget the precious support given by China during the war of the Algerian national liberation, and would always regard China as a good friend, good brother and good partner.

He emphasized that the two parties have kept deepening mutual political trust over the years, and shared similar positions on many major issues.

Belkhadem also expressed the hope that the FLN could learn from the CPC on party ruling and state governance and that the two countries would enhance cooperation in economy and trade, agriculture, infrastructure and urban management.

Zhang praised the long-lasting cooperative relations between China and Algeria, saying the CPC is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the FLN and make contribution to the sustainable development of bilateral strategic cooperation.

At the invitation of the FLN, the Chinese delegation arrived in Algiers Thursday for an official goodwill visit.
