Docu-films tell the story of China

A reel of outstanding documentaries will be taking over our TV screen for the television event Culture: The Story of China.

A reel of outstanding documentaries will be taking over our TV screen for the television event "Culture: The Story of China." TV centers around the country are contributing to the series with their best features. And 34 films, spread over 100 episodes will be unveiled to audiences in the coming year.

Titles to look out for include "The Spirit of Sichuan", "The West Lake", "The South of the Sea" and more. Together, they depict China through its many lenses.

The event is initiated by China TV Artist Association, China Radio and Television Association and Beijing TV Station. Organizers are also planning to issue TV yearbooks, and hold forums and galas to promote China's documentary production.

Acclaimed films will be released on DVD and broadcast by Beijing TV station, to encourage more documentary-making talents.
