Central gov't assigns new representative to Macao

The State Council, China's Cabinet, on Wednesday appointed Li Gang as deputy director of the central government's liaison office in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The State Council on Tuesday ended Li Gang's service as deputy head of the liaison office in Hong Kong SAR.

The official statement offered no more details.
