Overheated stove causes Yan'an commercial building fire

2012-12-24 08:44 CNTV     Web Editor: yaolan comment

Local authorities say an overheated stove has been found to have caused a fire in a commercial building in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Three people died and 21 were injured in the blaze in Yan'an on Saturday morning. A construction team at the 14 storey building had apparently used the smokeless coal stove to keep concrete soft for pouring.

The person guarding the stove is alleged to have left the building, with the stove still burning. It then set fire to bedding at the site. Ten people from the construction company are being held by police, while an investigation is carried out.
