Top legislature opens bimonthly session

China's top legislature on Monday started to review nine draft laws, law amendments and revisions including a new one on the Internet management.

At a bimonthly session of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee commenced on Monday morning, lawmakers were briefed with reports about two draft revisions to Law on Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elders and to Law on Funds for Investment in Securities.

The lawmakers will deliberate on amendments to Land Administration Law, Labor Contract Law and Trademark Law during the session of held from Dec. 24 to 28 in Beijing.

During this week, members of the top legislature will decide whether to approve a draft decision drawn up by the NPC Standing Committee to strengthen Internet information protection.

They will also discuss whether to adopt a new law on tourism and a NPC Standing Committee's decision which will authorize Guangdong Province to remove more administrative examination and approval items, as well as a draft decision to revise several articles of Agriculture Law.
