Chinese State Councilor Ma Kai on Monday stressed incorporating the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in governance and public administration theory research.
Ma, also president of the Chinese Academy of Governance (CAG), made the remarks at a national meeting of public administration research institutes.
He praised the role of governance research academies at all levels across the country as theoretical research centers and government advisory bodies in relevant fields, and he called on the institutes to study and acquire a more profound understanding of the CPC congress spirit.
He also told the institutes to introduce the Party congress spirit in their textbooks and teachings and instill it in the minds of teachers and students.
In order to serve government work, the study of major theoretical issues and strategic tasks set down at the CPC congress should be enhanced, Ma said.
He further called for improvements in the governance academies' teaching quality, talent pool and management system.
Monday's meeting was attended by representatives of government officials, presidents of provincial-level academies of governance as well as CAG students and faculty members.
