A government official in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, has been removed from his post, after an investigation by local disciplinary authorities over his affair with a mistress.
Deng Wengao, deputy secretary-general of the Zhanjiang city government, was found to have kept a mistress. He also has more than one child, according to the local disciplinary authorities.
Deng's case was first exposed online on Dec 21, with videos showing Deng with a woman and a child. The woman is not his wife.
Local disciplinary authorities said a further investigation is under way.
In a telephone interview with the Guangzhou-based Yangcheng Evening News on Tuesday, Deng only said: "You should get to know what kind of person I am."
Deng's case followed those involving a number of senior Guangdong officials, who were caught up in anti-graft efforts by the provincial authorities.
In Guangzhou, the provincial capital, a total of 61 officials at county-level or higher have been investigated so far this year.
He Jing, former deputy Party chief of Guangzhou's police authority, was found to have taken large bribes and have several mistresses and had sexual relations with many other women when he was in office from 2003 to 2012.
