The heating system and water supply have resumed after a road cave-in broke two gas pipelines and one water pipeline in northwest China's Shanxi Province.
More than 10,000 households were affected by the cave-in in the provincial capital Taiyuan on Wednesday afternoon, although no casualties have been reported. The cave-in was around 5 meters deep and 15 meters wide.
An initial investigation suggests that it was caused by an empty shelter underground. The shelter has now been filled in to prevent a secondary collapse.
