In a separate lecture delivered by Zhang Gaoli, he analyzed the significance, development opportunities as well as the risks and challenges to complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects in China.

The building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, which is an important reflection of the "Chinese dream", is both inspiring and feasible, according to Zhang.

China has entered a crucial stage to build a moderately prosperous society and the coming five years are a key period, he added.

"(We should) promote steady and healthy economic growth, optimize and upgrade economic structure, implement a development strategy that is bolstered by innovation, actively yet prudently advance urbanization, effectively ensure and improve people's livelihood, comprehensively deepen reform and opening up, and strive to realize the goals set at the 18th CPC National Congress," Zhang said.

The high-profile workshop opened in Beijing on Saturday and will end on Monday.
