Cambodian police arrested more than 70 Chinese nationals, who were suspected of being involved in telephone fraud, according to Cambodia Ministry of Interior on Saturday.
The raids were carried out in various locations in Phnom Penh on Saturday, Lt. Gen. Chhay Sinarith, head of Cambodia's Interior Ministry's internal security department, said in the interview with the Xinhua News Agency this Saturday.
He added the suspects contacted the Chinese victims via Voice over Internet Phone from Cambodia, defrauding threatening and extorting their money from China.
The Chinese embassy in Cambodia said China is continuing to cooperate with Cambodia authorities in the crackdown on telecommunication crime.
