In China, an important stage of a power transmission project to provide more power supply to Shanghai is to be completed on Sunday afternoon.
The current works are the most difficult part of the project. Engineers are installing pylon wires running across the Huaihe River in Anhui Province, in low winter temperatures and 200 meters in the air. The project starts from Huainan City in Anhui Province and terminates in west Shanghai, running 656 kilometers. Once completed, it will supply the metropolis with 50 billion kilowatt hours of power a year.
