Thirty-eight families who live in the drum and bell tower area had signed a relocation contract as of Saturday night, and they will be compensated 44,000 yuan per square meter, the Beijing Evening News reported Sunday.
A total of 136 families in the area have been asked to move by the deadline of February 24.
