An 8-month-old baby was severely burnt after a balloon exploded at home, and the baby underwent surgery at Beijing Children's Hospital, the Beijing Morning Post reported Thursday.
The baby's father said he bought a hydrogen balloon for his child, and the child was playing around the stove when the balloon exploded and burnt its face, hands and legs. Doctors said the child needs seven or eight more surgeries.
