Liu Xiaodong Hotan Project exhibition @ Today Art Museum

In June, Chinese artist Liu Xiaodong and his team went to Xinjiang Autonomous Region for his new endeavor, the Liu Xiaodong Hotan Project, which focuses on jade miners in the region. With them was a filming crew who shot a documentary about this project. Four of Liu's new paintings, East, South, West and North, as well as the documentary, named Liu Xiaodong in Hotan, will be on display at the Today Art Museum starting January 13. The project is one of Liu's first attempts to create a series of art works about Xinjiang.

Tianjin Flavor concert @ Mako Livehouse

Seven bands from neaby Tianjin will rock Beijing with their original songs at Mako Livehouse this Saturday. Tianjin Flavor has been the label of these bands and under it, they have released four albums. Participating bands include Wang Bao and Sun, Rocks, Back, Dust and Stone Lion.

Moshard Festival @ Mao Livehouse

Moshard Festival, the first hardcore music festival, will hit Mao Livehouse this Saturday. Five bands, including Rise of The Northstar, Strength Approach, Saving Molly and Return the Truth, will offer a head-thrashing good time.
