It's been four days since a landslide hit Zhenxiong county in Yunnan province which killed 46. Reconstruction work has already started and local officials said it would take about 6 months.
Those evacuated are currently living in makeshift tents and schools. Local government promised to build temporary houses within ten days.
The government also promised 12.5 yuan per day for each of the 6,000 people who were forced from their homes. Villagers whose houses were completely destroyed will receive 50,000 yuan. The government will also provide them with low-interest loans.
