9 killed, 28 injured in NE China mine accident

Nine people were killed, 28 others injured and one remains missing in a carbon monoxide poisoning accident at a gold mine in northeast China's Jilin Province, local authorities said Tuesday.

The accident happened at about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning at a gold mine in the city of Huadian, according to the city's publicity department.

The condition of the injured people is unknown.
