A cold front over the next few days is likely to bring down temperatures and disperse the fog that has shrouded China's central and eastern regions recently, according to an official weather forecast on Wednesday.
Affected by the cold front, the fog will begin to lift on Wednesday afternoon, making way for sunny weather in most parts of the country over the coming few years, the National Meteorological Center said.
Temperatures will drop by up to 10 degrees Celsius in the country's northern, central and eastern regions on Wednesday and Thursday, it added.
The center maintained a blue alert for fog on Wednesday, as the haze will remain in some parts of Henan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region during the day.
