China's capital city has once again been saved from lingering air pollution by a stream of cold air. Before the snowfall earlier on Sunday, Beijing weather forecasters had announced that the smog, which had dispersed, had returned, pushing pollution levels in the city back up.
Local government has been collecting public opinion on Beijing's Air Pollution Control Regulation, a new law that may suspend factory production and stop some vehicles from being used in Beijing.
The draft also sets out emergency preparations, forecasts, warning alerts and a response system to episodes of heavy air pollution.
