As league leading Guangdong had a chance to punch their ticket for the post-season with a win over their provincial rivals from Foshan. The Southern Tigers, riding a 10-game win streak coming into this one and with a win over the Long Lions would see the seven-time former champions earn their postseason berth with 8 games to play in the regular season.
