The officers and men of the transmitting station of a maritime garrison command under the East China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are enjoying hot pot food (a traditional Chinese food that people eat out of a pot of boiling soup on a small stove) and celebrating the Preliminary Eve (a holiday which falls on the 23rd or 24th of the twelfth month of the Chinese lunar year when people offer sacrifices to the kitchen god) on the night of February 3, 2013. The station has only 10-odd officers and men, and they cook by themselves. (Photo by Jiang Shan)
